Just Kids After School Program
Our afterschool program can always use extra helpers to provide special enrichment for the children. Homework tutors, "club" leaders, and enrichment specialists are some of the ways to make an impact on our children. Contact Seth Kellam at seth@jcc-asheville.org.
The Bubbie Brigade
A partnership between Shalom Children's Center and Jewish Family Services, we welcome senior adults to share in the joy of intergenerational experiences by volunteering in our preschool. Zaydie's welcome too! Contact Caroline Martin at caroline@jcc-asheville.org.
JFS "Share Shabbat," Friendly Visitors, and Friendly Phone Calls
Volunteer to share Shabbat, have a personal visit with, or make phone calls to have a weekly chat with an older adult who is home alone, in a nursing home or in an assisted living facility. Contact Lauren Katz at lauren@jcc-asheville.org.
Become a BBYO Youth Advisor
Seeking dynamic, fun, responsible individuals to serve as volunteer youth advisors for new local chapter of B'nai B'rith Youth Organization (BBYO), housed at the Asheville JCC. Prior experience as a BBYO participant desired. Participate in the development of our young Jewish men and women, travel to fun places, and meet new people. Contact Seth Kellam, seth@jcc-asheville.org.
Event Volunteers
Many hands are always needed to make our community-wide celebrations special. Help us plan our community Purim, Passover and Chanukah programs, or greet visitors at the JCC booth during the Hard Lox Jewish Food Festival, or the Israel's Independence Day Festival. JFS needs volunteers for the annual Blood Drive and Flu Shot Clinic. Contact Rochelle Reich at rochelle@jcc-asheville.org.
