The "ethics of food" can mean many things; not just how the soil, water and our health are impacted, but also the ethical obligations to feed the hungry masses around the world who don't have enough food by choosing the most productive farming methods possible, and what those methods are.
Speaker: Dr. Jeanine Davis, assoociate professor and extension specialist in the Department of Horticultural Science with NC State University. She has worked with Mountain Horticulture Crops Research and Extension Center in Mills River for over 20 years helping farmers improve the sustainability of their farms by growing new crops, transitioning to organic agriculture and adopting more sustainable production practices. Please bring your lunch, if you wish; coffee and tea will be provided. The format will be a limited presentation with time for discussion and interaction. Everyone is welcome.
