Aquatics Center

The JCC’s Aquatics Center and David Zimerman Pool offer year-round aquatics programming, including lap swimming, recreational swimming, swim team, swim lessons, and water fitness.

The David Zimerman Pool has a retractable cover, making it possible to swim outdoors during summer months and indoors during colder months. Our heated, handicapped accessible, 6-lane, 25- yard chlorinated pool features the only 1-meter competition-grade Duraflex diving board in Asheville. The water depth begins with a 3-feet, 6-inch shallow end and increases to 12 feet in the deep end.  The JCC Aquatics Center is equipped with men’s and women’s restroom/changing rooms that include handicapped accessible showers and lockers in addition to an all-gender family restroom/changing room. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, pool members have access to the Pearlman-Rothman Family Plaza that includes an outdoor pavilion with a kiddie pool and splash pad.

The retractable enclosure on the JCC’s David Zimerman pool that allows us to offer year-round aquatics programming was made possible by an incredibly generous donation on behalf of the Asheville High School Swim & Dive Team. The JCC pool is Asheville High School’s home pool, for which they have exclusive use 90 minutes a day on weekday evenings during the high school swim season (November 1 – February 15).

The Asheville JCC also has a youth swim club, the AJCC. Our Smokin’ Salmon and Gefilte Fish swim teams are proud to be Safe Sport Certified by USA Swimming.
