The JCC is deeply committed to helping our community teach children to swim. As the Talmud teaches, one of the essential responsibilities of a parent is to “teach your children to swim,” recognizing it as a life‑saving skill. In that spirit, we work hard to provide meaningful, safe, and developmentally appropriate swim opportunities for as many children as possible.
We are currently updating our swim‑class structure to better meet the needs of our families and to ensure high‑quality instruction. Enrollment priority is given to children who are already participating in JCC swim lessons, and current swim‑class participants receive the right of first refusal for upcoming sessions. This approach helps us maintain continuity for young swimmers and support their ongoing progress.
In addition to children’s programming, the JCC also offers private lessons, adult swim lessons, and springboard diving lessons. Availability for these offerings depends on instructor schedules and water access, but we are committed to supporting swimmers of all ages in developing confidence and safety in the water.
For all swim‑lesson inquiries, please contact Brook Hudson, Aquatics Director, or send an email to pool@jcc-asheville.org.
