Thank you for helping to exceed our Giving Tuesday Goals!
The Anti-Defamation League Center on Extremism reports a nearly 400-percent increase in antisemitic incidents. We are responding by recommitting to a balance of safety and hachnasat orchim (welcoming) for those who come to the J to celebrate Jewish joy and build lifelong relationships.
In light of this national data, the Asheville JCC is increasing security for our children, families, and members. Tomorrow, on the global generosity movement day of Giving Tuesday, you have an opportunity to support these efforts.
Your gift towards our goal of $30,000 will fund:
- Privacy fencing materials for the JCC Kids after-school playground
- A more frequent presence of Asheville Police Department officers on campus
- Expanded camera coverage for greater surveillance and crisis monitoring
- Additional training for staff provided by Secure Communities Network (SCN) and first responders
Please contact Maria at 828-253-0701 or accounting@jcc-asheville.org to make a gift of stock or for assistance in making a check or credit card gift by mail or over the phone.
The power of the Asheville Jewish Community Center is in our people – preschoolers learning the value of Shalom, campers making friendship bracelets, adults building strength and community through lap swimming and water fitness, and friends joining together to play mahjong and canasta. Thank you for joining us in protecting those who create community at the JCC each day.
