Local Resources: Your High Holiday Experience in Asheville

September 10, 2020 By Marketing

Congregation Beth Israel

Congregation Beth Israel is offering a full schedule of services for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.  Everyone is welcome.  Please contact the office at 252-8660 with questions.

“Asheville’s only independent egalitarian Jewish community. More than 100 years old, we’re rediscovering ourselves every day. We love pot-lucks, swapping stories and kids in the sanctuary. Sometimes we sing off key. We learn and laugh together, celebrate and care for each other.”

Click here for information about offerings and services during the high holidays.

Congregation Beth HaTephila

High Holy Day services at Beth HaTephila will be accessible to members and pre-paid ticket holders.

For more information, please email Buffy Skolnick at admin@bethhatephila.org

Chabad House

The Chabad House is offering services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in an outdoor setting under a tent with seating six feet apart (face masks required). Participants must RSVP in advance.

“Imagine a place where learning & laughter, sacred & secular, spiritual & physical, come together in an inviting atmosphere of warmth and belonging. You have just imagined the Chabad House!”

Information about Chabad’s high holiday services can be found here.

Jewish Secular Community of Asheville

The JSCA Ritual Committee is planning a full schedule of High Holiday Services via ZOOM.

“The Jewish Secular Community of Asheville (JSCA) provides a warm, inclusive, secular, and humanistic environment in which to celebrate holidays, learn about  our traditions and  history, and to discuss current issues throughout the year.”

Click here for information on service schedules and holiday offerings.

-Click here to watch a video of the JCC’s own Jewish Lifelong Engagement Director, Geri Garfinkel-Gershon as she blows the shofar.

Look into joining us for #ShofarTogether, where we will be sounding our shofars from home in one unified blast. Read more about the event here.
