The new realities of our growing community call for a revitalized Jewish Community Center – one that provides many different ways for families and individuals to explore their Jewish identity, celebrate Jewish culture, and build community. Our vastly improved JCC facilities will allow us to deliver exceptional educational, social, cultural, and wellness programs to meet our community’s changing needs. In addition, the improvements will strengthen our key revenue engines, helping to ensure the JCC’s financial vitality and sustainability.
Plans include:
1. A new aquatics facility on the 2.5 acre property on Clyde Street (now owned by the JCC) with a larger, heated pool and retractable enclosure for a year-round swimming season.
2. Renovate the JCC’s current building to improve spaces for JCC Kids After School program and Camp Ruach, update the social hall, and create areas designed for adult and community programs, including social gatherings, education, and group fitness.
3. Build new space for Shalom Children’s Center, to enhance classroom design, increase efficiencies in enrollment and staffing, provide added security, and better accommodate children with learning challenges.
3. Provide ample green space and playgrounds, with gazebos and gardens to enhance the natural learning components of our children’s programs.
4. Increase parking facilities to serve all members and program participants.
5. Improve energy efficiency and reduce costs through upgrades to outdated systems and other green building design approaches.
